Insurances Accepted
Tulsa Lactation Care is contracted with a national group practice, Lactation Consultants of America, to provide in-network billing for a variety of insurances. Our benefits team is able to verify in-network status after appointments are scheduled and intake forms are submitted. The patient is responsible for checking your insurance benefits to confirm coverage for lactation services and to estimate any possible cost-sharing, copays, etc. You are encouraged to address any insurance-specific questions, including copays by calling or texting Lactation Consultants of America at
323-870-1150, M-F 7:30 to 4:00pm PST and to your individual insurance plan.
For any other questions, please call or text Joanna Peterson at 661-495-7768.

Updated July 15, 2026:
For select Anthem plans, we are able to offer covered virtual/telehealth visits through Wildflower Health for up to 2 prenatal and 6 postpartum visits.
We are currently not able to direct bill Anthem or Blue Cross Blue Shield for in-person visits. Unfortunately, these insurances have stopped paying despite our contract, due to a nationwide glitch affecting some providers and specialties. It will be between 2 and 6 months before I can start seeing these insurances again. In the meantime, I can offer a cash-pay visits with a superbill.
We are in network with most Anthem and Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. HMO plans do not allow lactation in network.
There is sometimes cost sharing for mom, baby, or both. Cost sharing means the financial responsibility insurance assigns to you, such as a copay, coinsurance, or deductible. This varies by plan and isn’t always applied. Typically, it is around $10-40 depending on the plan.

Update on 9/1/26: UHC/UMR is now considering lactation for infants as non-preventative care, so infant visits will be subject to costsharing. The amount of patient responsibility is determined by your insurance, but many may expect an amount similar to their specialist copay. If you would like immediate feedback on copay rates for your specific insurance, please contact Lactation Consultants of America via text or phone call at 323-870-1150.
